General Information
The band program at OSU is an academic course within the music department. Certain performances are fixtures of our schedule each term. Things like football and basketball games, university convocation, the homecoming stage show, the NCAA tournament, etc.
It is a full schedule, and it is booked to meet the rehearsal and practice time that we have available. Additional performances are scheduled at the discretion of the student musicians.
We will always at least consider taking performances that seem like they’d be fun to play! If you have an opportunity like that, please let us know by filling out the form below.
Generally, all we need is a space in which to play, and an audience to play for. A typical gig is between ten minutes and a half hour.
Consider the schedule. The band is in-season between the start of Fall Quarter and when we turn in instruments in mid Spring Quarter. Over the summer we are scattered to the winds, plus the instruments are in storage or at the shop. We generally won’t accept performances during finals week, near football games, during potential bowl travel, etc.

All performance requests are evaluated for viability at student leadership meetings. These meetings take place most weeks during the fall, and less frequently during other seasons.
