Event Dates and further Important Information provided below.

The Oregon State Drumline is the rhythmic, beating heart of the OSUMB. In addition to all of the great music this section performs as part of the full band, the drumline has its own featured repertoire of cadences and grooves, additional Game Day performances, a samba band for OSU men's and women's soccer, community performance opportunities, and its own class during Spring Term.

The drumline typically fields 8-10 snares, 5-6 tenors, 6-7 basses, and 8-10 cymbals. Auditions are required for membership. If you have any questions about the drumline program or percussion opportunities at OSU, please feel free to contact us below.

General Audition Info

If you want to audition for the 2024 Oregon State Drumline, start by filling out the OSUMB Sign-up Form . Filling out this form will make you eligible to audition for the drumline.

Fall Auditions for incoming students will be held in-person at Reser Stadium on Saturday, August 3. Online options are available for out-of-state participants and in-state participants greater than 4 hours’ drive from Corvallis.

We are hard at work finalizing this year’s Drumline Audition packet and currently play-testing the new material. Check back in the first week of May to download the music and instructions!

You are also welcome to visit our Spring Drumline class, a course for current OSU students, to get a feel for the program and for our drumline community. If you happen to be in Corvallis touring the campus on a Wednesday, we meet on Wednesday evenings, 7-8:50 in Gill Coliseum. Contact Justin Preece if you would like to arrange a visit (email at bottom of this page).

Finally, we offer workshops during the summer to help you get familiar with the audition music, meet staff and student leaders, and get your questions answered. Confirmed dates and registration info forthcoming. Read on…
